Full Refurb of 60-Year-Old Crane
Rossendale Group has won an order to modernise a 60-year-old, 10 tonne capacity overhead crane at the Brunner Mond chemical plant in Cheshire, UK.
The old crane, which is currently driven by an operator using foot pedals on the crane bridge, will benefit from new electrics throughout, new running gear including the crane wheels and the crab unit, a new hoist unit and new radio controls. The refurbishment is wholly designed, managed and fitted by Rossendale Group staff.
The site work will be carried out to the high saftey standards expected of Brunner Mond and Rossendale Group and will involve daily risk assessmets, method statements and work permits.
